20th May 2020,

Dear Parents/ Carers,

We hope you and your loved ones are keeping safe and well.

We ask you to join us in giving a warm JT welcome to our new lead Physiotherapist, Pam Townsend. She is joining the school at an unusual time, but is planning to speak with many of you over the coming weeks.

We hope you are finding the weekly calls from teachers helpful; it is important for us to know how you are all doing at home.

Thank you for the positive feedback you have given regarding our current home school provision, including online learning, deliveries of home resources and joint working with agencies where needed. Thank you as well for sharing your thoughts with our teachers last week about how you feel your son or daughter is coping at home and your thoughts about a return to school.

We can confirm that we will be opening the school for a small group of pupils on 2nd June for a part-time timetable. These pupils include those who do not have complex medical needs that would put them at risk of additional complications, pupils who have parents who are key workers and those who have other needs, as discussed with the class teacher. We will review this process again with you at the end of June when we have further advice regarding the shielding process.

We are working hard to make sure that the site is as safe as possible for returning pupils and staff, whilst still being able to maintain a high quality provision for the pupils who, for the time being are safer at home. We are completing a school site risk assessment, which includes measures such as personal protective equipment (PPE), a reduced school day to avoid peak travel and measures on the site to allow for social distancing, where possible.

We want to thank you again for all you are doing to support your child in their learning, in addition to providing for their care, social and emotional needs. We appreciate how challenging these times are for everyone and look forward to all of us being together in school in the future.

With best wishes
