14th May 2021,

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had a lovely start to the summer term. The Eid celebrations were enjoyed by all and hopefully you will have had the chance to see them on our Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/jacktizardschool

Thank you all for your very kind and generous donations for the Foodbank at Hammersmith and Fulham. The pupils were very proud that they were able to deliver these to help others.

Since we have received so many great comments from you about the support we have provided over the past year, we decided we would work towards a Wellbeing Award to celebrate this. You will shortly receive some information and a questionnaire which we would be very grateful if you would complete it and return it to us as soon as possible. Your views play a really important part in helping us to find the best ways to support you and your child’s wellbeing.

We are looking forward to the next stage of the national roadmap of Covid restrictions being lifted. We have reviewed the relevant guidance and consulted with staff members over the past week. We would like to inform you of some changes that will take place to our risk assessment from 17th May to 21st June. As always, we aim to balance safety with pupil progress and we will continue to work hard with this in mind.

We will wear face coverings when we are closer than 2 metres to anyone who is not in our ‘bubble.’ We will also be combining some bubbles to make slightly larger bubbles to help children get ready for their move to a different class in September. We will allow some more essential trips and visits, whilst adhering to the guidelines at all times i.e. social distancing and wearing masks.

We will continue to clean equipment more frequently than usual. We already employ an additional cleaner in the middle of the day to clean frequently touched areas. Other measures will also remain in place e.g. virtual assemblies and taking temperatures of pupils, staff and visitors.

We hope that you feel reassured by this, but please do come and talk to us, if you have any queries or issues.

Kirsty, our Head of Primary Department, is going on maternity leave. We are would like to thank her for all her hard work and wish her well. We are very pleased that Lachlan Jesser, the teacher in Centaur Class, has been appointed to cover the Head of Primary post whilst Kirsty is on leave.

Just a reminder that the summer half term break will commence on Monday 31st May and we look forward to seeing the pupils back in school on Monday 7th June.

Yours sincerely
