  8 January 2021,

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for taking the time to discuss your child’s current situation with their class teacher this week. This has been most helpful and the risk assessments for all pupils are now complete. We have used this information, alongside other relevant factors, to ensure that we have the safest possible model in place for the whole school community, whilst England is in lockdown.

From Monday 11th January until Friday 12th February we will have a small onsite provision for pupils who are vulnerable or have key worker parents and offer a personalised remote package to the students who are remaining at home.

We will be providing the following remote learning during this period:

  • Two pre-recorded online lessons, delivered by Jack Tizard staff and other associates. These will be posted on our website, Facebook and YouTube Channel on Mondays and Fridays
  • A daily live session provided by your child’s class team. These will be delivered through Google Classroom and your child’s class teacher will let you know what times these will be taking place
  • Two live assemblies per week, delivered by Google Classroom. Primary students will be on Monday at 1.30 and Secondary students will be on Wednesday at 1.30. There will be a whole school assembly on Friday at 2.30
  • In addition to this, your child’s class teacher will discuss with you, during their weekly calls, if you would like any additional resources to use at home. These will be delivered by Jack Tizard staff and would be with you within one week. If you require your child’s Google Classroom logon please contact your child’s teacher

We will review the provision on a regular basis and you will have weekly contact from the school if your child is learning from home. The provision is not fixed and we will respond in a personalised way to the needs of the pupils. Most parents prefer a phone call, but we also know that this is a busy and stressful time for you, so if you would prefer email correspondence please do let us know. Our approach has always been personalised to the pupil and family and we want to do whatever we can to reduce unwanted stress at this time, whilst making sure we know your child is safe and coping well at home.

We know this is not the ideal start to the New Year but we have an excellent community spirit at Jack Tizard and always have a listening ear for you and your child. We will get through this together and look back with pride at how resilient and supportive everyone has been.

Please do not hesitate to contact us outside of your weekly calls / emails if something arises in the interim.

Warmest regards
